Button mushroom production room
A purpose-built insulated room with rack systems, climate control and air handling to support each phase of the button mushroom crop cycle.
Incubation and production phase
The room (or rooms) must support the conditions for incubation (spawn run) and then the production / pinning / harvest phase. Conditions differ between phases.
Temperature, humidity and CO₂ control
Temperature, RH and CO₂ are controlled actively. Each phase has its own target band — Subject to confirmation after site inspection and crop plan.
Rack layout
Multi-tier rack systems maximise bag count per m². Rack layout affects airflow, harvesting access and the number of bags the room can carry.
Bag capacity guidance
Bag count depends on room size, rack design and bag size. Indicative bag counts are shown under Room size options.
Fresh air and air circulation
Continuous gentle air circulation plus controlled fresh air exchange keep CO₂ in range and temperature uniform.
Room size options
- 18 ft × 30 ft — approx. 1,000 bags, 5 TR.
- 18 ft × 40 ft — approx. 1,600+ bags, 8 TR, two outdoor units.
- 18 ft × 60 ft — approx. 2,500+ bags, 10 TR, two outdoor units.
- 18 ft × 70 ft — approx. 3,000+ bags, 12 TR, two outdoor units.
Client civil / electrical responsibilities
