Cold Room Heat Load Calculator
Outputs BOQ-ready load assumptions: transmission, product, respiration, infiltration, and internal loads with a 10% safety factor. Insulation per IS 661 / IS 12436; civil loads referenced from IS 875 Part-II/III.

Quotation Wizard match
Heat-load TR is the physics requirement; Quotation kW is the nearest standard Daikin SKU. The Quotation always picks the next-larger machine for safety margin.
Civil note: roof live load assumption 0.75 kN/m² per IS 875 Part-II for accessible roofs; wind/seismic per IS 875 Part-III and IS 1893 respectively.
FAQs
Which standards underpin this calculator?
Insulation thickness and PUF properties: IS 661 (Thermal Insulation for Cold Storage) and IS 12436 (PUF panels). Civil loads referenced for BOQ: IS 875 Part-II (imposed/live) and Part-III (wind). PUF k ≈ 0.022 W/m·K is used as a typical IS 12436 value.
Why a 10% safety factor?
Standard practice for cold-room load calc to absorb uncertainty in door openings, product heat-of-respiration variability, and ambient peaks. Final HyperCold engineering BOQ uses project-specific safety based on commodity and geography.
Is this output BOQ-ready?
It is BOQ-ready as an assumption sheet — load breakdown, U-value, TR sizing, and panel thickness rationale. Final BOQ requires HyperCold engineering review and equipment selection.
