What MIDH supports
MIDH covers horticulture post-harvest infrastructure for fruits, vegetables, flowers, spices and aromatic plants. Cold storage and integrated pack houses are among the eligible components, with capacity slabs and norms notified each year.
- Cold storage for horticulture produce (standalone or with pack house)
- Pack house with sorting, grading, washing and pre-cooling
- Ripening chamber for banana, mango, papaya and similar
- Refrigerated transport (reefer vans) under integrated projects
Pattern of assistance
Assistance is credit-linked and back-ended — the bank sanctions and disburses the term loan first, and the eligible subsidy amount is released by the implementing agency only after the project is commissioned and physically verified.
Exact percentage varies by applicant category, location category (general / NE & hilly / SC / ST) and the latest MIDH guidelines for the relevant financial year. Always confirm the current notification before applying.
Important caveats
- Subsidy depends on availability of state action plan and budget for the year
- Bank term loan sanction is a prerequisite — without bank sanction, no subsidy
- Project must conform to technical standards (PUF panels, refrigeration capacity, civil)
- Joint physical inspection is required before release of back-ended subsidy
