Engineering note
Air change rate and CO₂ control are as critical as temperature.
Technical Specifications & Construction

- Daikin / Bitzer / Emerson scroll or screw
- Controls
- Carel / Danfoss digital with data-logger
How HyperCold Designs This Cold Room
These are the design factors we lock down before quoting. Skip any of these and the project either runs hot, drinks electricity, or under-delivers on shelf life.
Phase-wise control
Spawn run vs production phases need different setpoints; programmable controllers automate the cycle.
CO₂ and fresh air
Mushrooms generate CO₂; controlled fresh-air make-up keeps CO₂ in optimal range for pinning.
Rack layout
5–6 tier rack systems with even airflow distribution maximise yield per sqft.
What Drives the Project Cost
We don't quote square-foot rates — every build is BOQ-priced. The factors below decide where your project lands within a realistic range.
- 01Number of rooms (incubation + production)
- 02Rack layout and tiers
- 03CO₂ sensors and fresh-air system
- 04Refrigeration brand and capacity (TR)
- 05Floor type (PUF + chequered Al vs heated)
- 06Door type, ante room, electrical and DG backup
- 07Civil work and site readiness (Extra)

Scope split — what we deliver, what your site provides
Clear scope upfront avoids the most common project-cost surprises. Items marked "subject to" are finalised after technical site evaluation.
HyperCold scope
- Heat-load and refrigeration sizing (BOQ-based)
- PUF panel manufacturing at our Firozabad plant
- Refrigeration unit supply, piping, charging and leak test
- On-site panel erection, door fitting and commissioning
- Control panel, sensors and data-logger (where applicable)
- Operator handover, AMC kick-off and warranty documentation
- Phase-wise temperature, humidity and CO₂ control logic
- Fresh-air make-up and exhaust system
Client / site scope
- Civil work — floor, walls, foundation, plinth (subject to final site inspection)
- 3-phase electrical supply up to the project room (load to be confirmed after technical evaluation)
- Earthing pit, MCB / RCCB at the LT panel side
- Water supply for installation and cleaning
- Site access — crane / hydra movement, internal pathway and unloading zone
- Any local permissions (fire NOC, FSSAI, pollution clearance) — subject to scheme guidelines
- Compost supply (buy-in) or attached compost unit — subject to project scope
- Water for humidity and washdown
Common mistakes we help clients avoid
Most of these surface only after commissioning, when fixes are expensive. Catching them at quotation stage protects both shelf life and capex.
Skipping CO₂ exhaust
Without a fresh-air make-up + exhaust cycle, CO₂ climbs above 1,500 ppm in days and yield collapses.
Using normal AC instead of engineered cooling
A split AC dehumidifies the room. Mushroom rooms need humidity 85–90% — engineered cooling with humidification is non-negotiable.
Under-sizing electrical supply or skipping DG backup
Cold rooms run year-round. A weak LT supply or no DG plan turns every grid outage into a spoilage event.
Treating subsidy as a guarantee
Subsidy eligibility depends on project type, beneficiary category, scheme notification and department verification. Plan financials independent of subsidy approval.
Reference visuals & build photos
Indicative engineering visuals — actual build configuration depends on commodity, capacity and site.

How HyperCold Mushroom Production Room compares
Mushroom rooms need humidity, CO₂ and fresh-air control simultaneously — a normal AC will not work.
| Build factor | Split-AC retrofit room | HyperCold mushroom room |
|---|---|---|
| Humidity control | Dehumidifies (drops below 60%) | 85–90% RH with humidification |
| CO₂ management | None | Fresh-air + exhaust cycle to hold CO₂ < 1000 ppm |
| Temperature uniformity | Spot cooling | Engineered airflow across tiered racks |
| Biosecurity | Open envelope | Sealed PUF envelope with PPGL skin |
| Yield predictability | Highly variable | Phase-locked recipe per crop cycle |
